The Midlands are getting closer to the Atlantic: from May 2027, Jet2 is opening a direct route between Birmingham and La Rochelle. It is a new way to reach the French Atlantic coast, its beaches, the old harbour and the Île de Ré, in under two hours' flying time from Birmingham.

From May 2027, Jet2 is launching a direct Birmingham to La Rochelle service, mainly over the summer season (May to September), with a flight time of around 1 hour 50. On arrival, La Rochelle Airport (code LRH) is compact and quick: once you have your bags, you are at your car within minutes, with no shuttle. As timetables are published by the airline, check the Jet2 schedule when you book your flight.
From Birmingham: head for the Charente coast
Thanks to this new Jet2 route, travellers from Birmingham and the Midlands reach Charente-Maritime directly: fine sandy beaches, the pale-stone villages of the Île de Ré, seafood and the Atlantic way of life.
